Answer:Kelly's Korner has put
together a lot of information from various sources, to help you
find answers to the problems some users have with Windows XP. I
have also put together some commonly requested tweaks and tips to
make XP work the way you want it to.
PhishGuard is a simple, FREE software service for computers
running Microsoft operating systems (Windows 98 through XP) and any
version of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater. PhishGuard
harnesses the collective observations of Internet users to detect
and rapidly disable Internet Phishing or Spoofing attacks designed
to steal critical financial data. Phishing attacks use fraudulent
websites and emails that mimic well-known organizations in order to
trick unsuspecting Internet users. A simple login or account number
entry screen becomes a trap. By assuming you are dealing with a
trusted party, you can reveal financial information including
credit card numbers, bank accounts, passwords, and social security
numbers to the "bad guys".
It's official, AnalogX BitPump is now release and ready to
download! For those of you who didn't check out the beta, BitPump
is basically a light weight, high performance BitTorrent download
client. It supports many of the same features that other common
clients do, such as multiple downloads at the same time, a single
port for all transfer, etc. Unlike most of the others, you also can
do some interesting things, such as switch between either a
download manager type of GUI, or a dialog type of GUI (similar to
the normal IE download dialog). If it sounds interesting to you,
head on over to the Download/Network section and grab yourself a
hot copy. I'd like to take a second to thank everyone who helped in
the beta to track down problems, suggest improvements, and
generally just use the app!
Registry Tweaker is a tool, for
applying registry tweaks on Windows platforms. It supports Windows
2000/XP/2003. The program is very customizable, you can add, edit
tweak database, create profiles and export them to *.reg files.
Everything is done just with a few clicks. If you like to track
things down, Tweak Tracker is included. When you apply tweak,
manually or with profile, changes are written to tracker, so you
can check everything you have applied. Of course, restore to old or
original value is possible. .
The Password
Gorilla helps you manage your logins. It stores all your user names
and passwords, along with login information and other notes, in a
securely encrypted file. A single "master password" is used to
protect the file. This way, you only need to remember the single
master password, instead of the many logins that you use. If you
want to log in to a service or Web site, the Password Gorilla
copies your user name and password to the clipboard, so that you
can easily paste it into your Web browser or other application.
Because the password does not appear on the screen, Password
Gorilla is safe to use in the presence of others. The convenience
of Password Gorilla allows you to choose different, non-intuitive
passwords for each service. An integrated random password generator
can provide one-time passwords, tunable to various services'
policies.
