DupeTrasher enables you to find duplicate files of
any kind, and then copy, move or delete them. It offers different
levels of accuracy, by allowing you to specify which criteria must
match in order for a file to be considered a duplicate - with the
highest being an exact byte-to-byte content match.
The program is small, and very fast with an easy to understand
results display that shows you the files found organized in color
coded rows.
You can scan entire drive volumes or only selected folders, and
also easily include files or folders from being included in the
scan.
Standalone executable file with no third party libraries or DLL
dependencies. For less than ten bucks, this is a very powerful and
fast duplicate finder.
Photo Gadget is a handy tool for quick resizing of one or more
images. It integrates into the Windows explorer right-click menu
and allows you to resize selected images to 4 common sizes,
optimized for use in email, desktop or handheld devices, and you
can also define a custom size.
The program does not overwrite your original image, but creates a
copy with the size added to the file name (e.g
picture_640x480.jpg).
Do you have a ton of programs that
start automatically each time Windows starts? Surely you are not
using all of them right away, so there is no sense waiting for all
of them to load and to star at the hourglass. Startup Delayer
allows you to specify which programs to start first and which ones
to delay. You can set a custom delay for each one, even drag the
visual display graph which shows you exactly how your programs are
starting and allows you to easily modify the order or adjust delay
times.
Question: Should I occasionally delete cookies
from my machine?
Answer: If you would
like to delete the cookies on your hard drive, you certainly can do
so. Remember though, they really don't take up that much room.
For example, I have around thousands of cookies on my hard drive
and they take up less than 5 meg of disk space. I that is a lot,
but I still think they do more good than harm.
In addition, if you delete out all
of your cookies you may find that sites you use all the time no
longer recognize you or remember your password.
So, you may want to follow the steps below, but only delete out
the cookies that are not important (you can see where the cookie
came from if you have the Internet Address column stretched wide
enough).
Here's how to delete ALL the cookies
from your hard drive:
To get rid of them, do the
following:
1. Open Windows Explorer by
right-clicking the Start button, Explore.
2. Next, open your Temporary
Internet Files folder. It should be just a few folders
down.
3. Now, look at the top of the right
pane where all your temporary internet files are. At the top there
should be a column labeled Type (along with Name, Internet Address,
etc). Click the word "Type". This sorts your files so that all your
cookies are lumped together.
4. Almost there. Now, scroll down
until you come to your cookie files. They're easy to spot since
they have the word "cookie" in their titles. They should have a
little text icon next to them as well.
5. Finally, click the top cookie
file so it's highlighted (or just move your mouse over it if you
have your computer set for single-clicking). Now, scroll down to
the last cookie. Hold down your SHIFT key and click it (or just
hover over it if you're set for single clicking). That should
highlight all of them.
Punch your Delete key, (you'll be
asked to confirm) and you'll be rid of them.
